Character Info for Audition
We realize that not everyone is familiar with the story of this play and its characters. Hopefully this will help when making the decision as you choose a role for your audition. Remember if you would like a speaking role, please sing the song that corresponds to the character you want to play. Songs will be posted on January 8, 2018
Summary:
Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS is an adaptation of the fourth of Mary Pope Osborne's award-winning fantasy adventure books from the Magic Tree House book series, which has sold more than 100 million copies and is available in more than a hundred countries around the world. This time around, Jack and Annie’s tree house takes them to an exotic island with pirates, where the two discover the power of friendship and the simple pleasures in everyday life.
Pirates:
Captain Bones - Has solo song part and lines to memorize. He is the meanest pirate of the group.
Billy, Molly, Nathaniel, Wilhelmina, Peter - Part of the pirate crew, will sing in a small group, have a few lines.
Pedro the Pelican, Corey the Crab, Stella the Starfish - will sing a small solo in song and have a few lines. Must not be afraid to dance and let loose.

The two siblings return to visit the magic tree house on a dreary, rainy day. They find a book where the sun is shining and the waves are crashing, so they wish to travel to this tropical place. They realize that they are in the eighteenth-century Caribbean, the time of pirates! The siblings meet Captain Bones, a mean old pirate who captures the two and forces them to help him find buried treasure. It's up to Jack and Annie to find their way back to the tree house and make their way home.
Main Characters:
Annie: She has lots of songs and lines to memorize and will sing solo.
Jack: He is Annie's brother and has lots of songs and lines to memorize and will sing solo.
Morgan/Polly - Plays a duel role of a parrot and a person. This character has a solo song and lines to memorize.
Pirates:
First Mate - This character begins our show with a song. He/She will have lots of lines to memorize and a solo to sing. Lots of growling and Arghs required.
Captain Bones - Has solo song part and lines to memorize. He is the meanest pirate of the group.
Pinky, Stinky, Blinky and Slinky - Part of the pirate crew and henchmen to Captain Bones, but also have many lines and parts of the song they will sing.
Jonah - Cabin boy who wants to help Jack and Annie. Lines to memorize and will sing a small solo.
Billy, Molly, Nathaniel, Wilhelmina, Peter - Part of the pirate crew, will sing in a small group, have a few lines.
Animals:
Teeki the Seagull - The main island animal. Is very jubilant and joyful. Must not be afraid to dance and "get into the groove". Will sing a solo plus have a few lines.
Pedro the Pelican, Corey the Crab, Stella the Starfish - will sing a small solo in song and have a few lines. Must not be afraid to dance and let loose.
Ensemble:
These characters will sing as part of a group, when coming to audition you may sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star or Happy Birthday.
Pirate Crew, Pelicans, Lizards, Crabs, Lobsters, Starfish, Jellyfish and other island creatures.
